A Little About Him

Josh was raised in Marquette, KS, a small town in McPherson County.  He will be 31 when we get married.  He graduated from McPherson High School in 1996 and headed to KU. Josh spent 3 years at KU, and left after his junior year to start a web design business.  In the years since he has lived in British Columbia, Kansas, and Mississippi.

When Hurricane Katrina hit in August of 2005, he was living half a block off the beach in Long Beach, MS.  He had evacuated, but unfortunately, nothing that he left there survived.  He decided to move back to Lawrence after the hurricane.  He has since purchased a house and plans to make Lawrence his permanent home.

A Little About Me

Hi there!  I suppose I should take a couple of posts and introduce us to the wedding BLOG world.  My name is Amanda, I just turned 27 and I live in Lawrence, Kansas, home of the University of Kansas Jayhawks.  I grew up here and could not imagine living anywhere else at this point in my life.

Right now, I work for an airport consulting firm in Kansas City and commute back and forth to work every day.  Eventually, I want to open my own event planning business and help other couples plan weddings.  It's something that I love to do.  I will graduate with degrees in eMarketing and Business Administration in April 2010 and will start helping with planning friends and family weddings sometime after our wedding in May.  It's something that I am looking forward to very much.  I know our wedding inside and out at this point and I am really looking forward to hearing other viewpoints and other visions for weddings.  I can't wait!

Welcome to Wedding Planning. . .

Hi there everyone!  Welcome to our wedding planning BLOG.  I'm hoping that I'll be able to document the process of wedding planning for myself here and allow some of you (if there will be any of you) to see a little bit into my world.

As you'll come to find out, I've got a touch of OCD and I like to get things done quickly and efficiently.  If there's something to be planned, I'm your woman.  If you want it done right and done right the first time, I'm the one to call.  It's even gone so far that at some point in the next few years, you will probably find me running my own event planning business.  It's something I have always loved and have always been good at.

Hopefully, this BLOG will be a place where other brides-to-be can find some inspiration, some ideas, or just a place to come and see what someone else is doing during the planning process.  As of today, Josh and I are 261 days from our wedding.  For those of you counting, that's just over 8 months.  It really seems like just yesterday that we got engaged and had 14 months until the wedding.  We're almost half way through our engagement and I've got a ton to share already, so sit back, relax and enjoy the ride with me!
